Henna 101 - How to design and apply basic patterns

A growing trend in the US among young people is henna/mehandi designs for Eids, parties, weddings, and many other occasions and events. This form of body art has been practiced for centuries through out the Muslim world. It is an inexpensive and fun, feminine form of beautification. Henna is a temporary "tattoo" that wears off in 1-3 weeks. A great alternative to permanent tattoos. :)

Many sites now offer tips, how-to's and sample supplies free or nearly free of charge! Try out different tools, henna, and accessories without breaking the bank.

Blooming Tea - A great way to entertain guests

I know this has nothing to do with hijab or fashion...but I just wanted to take a minute to say how much i love blooming/flowering tea. :)

If you are new to the world of flowering teas, this is a great way to entertain guests. A beautiful show unfolds before their eyes, and then they are able to enjoy the light, flavorful tea after the bulb has opened and steeped.

My personal favorite brand is Numi. Their teapots are beautiful and their tea bud designs are exquisite. ENJOY! :)

Conditions for Women's Hijab

Everything but the hands and face should be covered - including your feet :)
Don't forget to cover your hair and bustline!
Clothing should be wide and loose so as to obscure your figure. This is most easily accomplished by wearing something OVER your regular clothing.
Clothing must not be see-thru.
Clothing must not attract attention - i.e. avoid loud colors, bold designs, sparkles etc...
Clothing shouldnt be that which only men traditionally wear...enjoy being a woman!
Avoid make-up and noisy, visible jewelry - you're pretty enough...don't make it harder for people! :)
No perfume - I'm sure you already smell great!
Clothing should not resemble solely that which non-Muslims wear. - Sorry, no Daisy Dukes in public!
Hijab isnt just a dress code, its a mindset! Your beauty isnt only skin deep! Be modest in your behavior as well. Remember this isnt just a protection for you as a person, this is an act of worship. :)
