  1. Hello :) I've never left a comment on someone's blog who I didn't know before, but I really wanted to leave one on yours. I'm an atheist from the UK, and, a few months ago, found myself googling "hijab blog" after a conversation about hijabs with my mother.

I've been really impressed by blogs like yours: fashion might be seen as a shallow topic but it says so much about our identities, self-esteem and self-image that it was a great way to learn about muslim women, hijabs and their ideas. Thank you for opening my eyes!

I have a question for you though.

After looking at a few blogs I You Tubed "hijab" and found a user called NonMuslimHijabi. I don't know if you know her, but her username pretty much tells you everything: she's a white non-muslim who wears and loves hijab. After looking at blogs like yours I wouldn't mind wearing hijab but wouldn't if I didn't have a good reason to. I wouldn't want to misappropriate the culture.

Rather than just wonder about this and never knowing, I thought you might be a good person to ask. So here I am, writing you this message :)

What would you think of a Western non-muslim woman who wore hijab? Would you be supportive of a hijabi Western atheist or would you see it as cultural misappropriation? How would you feel?

Thank you for your blog. I think it's awesome what you're doing :)

Salaam All,

Please feel free to let us know what you think. Add your ideas about hijab styles, scarf tieing suggestions and life as Al Muhajaba El Aniqa (the one who wears hijab with pride and style)!
